About Us
DESCENT Soap Company LLC was created out of my love for making soap and my husband's long-standing love of hunting.
My husband is an avid hunter and strongly believes in the use of scent eliminating products for a successful hunt.
While scent eliminating products already exist on the market, he wanted a better, custom made, enhanced soap and body wash product using baking soda and activated charcoal. He wanted a lotion for use in the field with baking soda and activated charcoal to reinforce the scent elimination, and he wanted unscented beard oil.
My husband and I, along with our four kids. :)
Most store-bought soap products are cheaper than handcrafted natural soap because of the substitutions that large scale manufacturers use to replace more expensive ingredients. It's all about the bottom line, not what is best for the customer. Commercial soap manufacturers often remove and reuse glycerin from the soap as a cost-saving practice, leaving a soap that does not have moisturizing abilities and may even strip your skin of moisture.
Many large scale beard oil manufacturers use cheap oils as their main ingredients with only a small amount of the expensive oil. Our premium beard oil uses only top-notch, elite oils and you can tell the difference. (So I'm told by happy, bearded hunters.)
The DESCENT handcrafted soap is made from a Goat Milk Base. The benefits of using creamy goat milk as a soap base are tremendous for your skin! Goat milk is a rich moisturizer that quickly gets absorbed by your skin due to being a natural emollient; this creates a barrier for your skin keeping it protected and smooth. Goat milk is rich in fatty acids helping skin to maintain a healthy natural oil balance. The alpha hydroxy acid it contains encourages the growth of new skin cells while also breaking down the older skin cells, giving your skin a glowing, healthy appearance.
Once the DESCENT products were perfected, we decided to make it available to other outdoorsman who want high quality products specifically made for life in the outdoors.
Our scented handcrafted products are also made from only the best ingredients. I started making handmade body products for our youngest daughter, who has eczema, and I quickly learned the immeasurable difference between store bought products (created for a big business to make money) and handcrafted quality products made with a person's health and healing in mind. Once I began making them, and watched my family's skin health improve significantly, I could never go back to store bought products, and the rest is history.
